Day 8:
Today’s drive was much shorter so we got to camp early which was nice. We’ll be staying here for five days. No more hitting the road every morning.
We are now in Maryland, it’s so green and beautiful, as you can see Roxy gets lost in the deep grass. Lyla and Roxy are great traveler’s. Due to ticks we have to thoroughly check the dogs and brush them after every walk. I think they’re feel violated but it’s for their own good.
Hallie got to meet her roommate “Mallory” today, they had fun talking for hours. They’re so excited to move in together and Manuel approves of her too.
Daniel and I finally got to set up camp completely since we’ll be here for five days. We have our American Flag, string lights, plant pots that family and friends painted that we use to light up our site with solar lights in them. It feels a little like home now.
I also met the sweetest little girls. They wanted to pet our dogs. Their grandpa lives here full time. I think I found some friends to paint rocks with. God is good.
Ramblin’ Pines Campground is beautiful and has all the amenities you could want, even a gym for Hailie. Although I can’t wait to feed the goats and swim.
I already had a wonderful bike ride around the whole campground. I’m grateful to my brother Steven and Sister-in-law Karen for giving me an electric bike. There is no way I would have made it up the hills here.
We are now sitting outside by the fire, listening to crickets, locusts and the low mumble of other campers talking and laughing in the distance. Life is good.
See you down the road.
