Day 17:
Today was eventful, filled with excitement, wonder, and remembrance.
We took a six-hour bus tour. We stopped at many places and walked around, so it was a long day but an educational day.
We started by taking the Lincoln Tunnel, which is 97 feet (0.03 km) under the Hudson River, then entered New York City and boy, do they drive crazy there. They must have good car insurance.
We visited:
Time Square
States Island Ferry
Statue of Liberty
Ellis Island
Manhattan Skyline
9/11 Memorial
Central Park
Dakota Building
Strawberry Fields
Rockefeller Center
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Atlas Statue
5th Avenue
I can’t post all my pictures because they would bore you so the highlights were the Ferry out to the Statue of Liberty, Time Square, Manhattan Skyline, learning about the history of the Dakota Building and of course the 9/11 Memorial, especially the Memorial Tree and how it was the only tree in the area to survive 9/11, although it was just a twig from all the destruction it survived and came back strong, just like Americans do.
See you down the road.
