Today started out fine until Hailie collapsed and began convulsing in the elevator. She was conscious but on the ground. I yelled “call 911” thank God there was a man with us that called for help while I checked on Hailie. She kept saying “I’m okay” but all I could think was someone, please help my daughter.

We both dropped everything, so coffee and food were all over the elevator. I helped her up and into the lobby while we waited for the paramedics.

She’s been so sick that she’s weak. The paramedics said her blood sugar was low, so we decided to just get food, go back to the room and rest. It doesn’t help that the sinus infection medication makes her nauseous.

I’m so grateful I could be here with her. Having a sick child across the country is such a helpless feeling. Thank God it’s not covid, or I wouldn’t be able to be here with her.

So, I sit here in the hotel room, blogging while she sleeps and heals. I sip my tea, eat a cookie and think about simpler times when we all lived under one roof. When I could tuck them in every night and KNOW they’re safe, they’re healthy, and they’re okay.

These winds of change can sometimes be rough winds, but at least for this storm we’re together, at least two of us, but our little family of four is always together in heart and prayers.

In the meantime Daniel, Roxy and Lyla have traveled to our new campground in Lubec, Maine.

Please pray for our little family.

Pictures are the wind blowing outside my window and our new campsite view. Daniel is relaxing and probably drinking a rum and coke.

See you down the road
