We closed the door on our home for the last 10 years. We held hands outside, said a prayer then hit the road in “The Journey” towing our Honda a couple bikes, Roxy, Lyla and Hailie and Manuel driving behind us. Saying goodbye to my sweet Madi and Brandon last night was so painful even though it’s temporary but I’ve never been apart from either of my girls for more than 10 days. Thank God Madi has Brandon and he has Madi. First stop Covid test for Hailie where she almost punched the nurse but this is the only way she will be allowed on campus in Maryland, then of course a large ice tea for the road. The only challenge was picture #10 when a hose burst from the ice maker and water went all over. Thank God Daniel is handy. A quick trip to True Value and he repaired it himself. We’re camping at a Harvest Host camp site which is Desert Diamond Distillery in Kingman, AZ. In exchange for purchasing something we can stay over for free. It’s a great way to see America and experience new places. Daniel enjoyed the Rum Tasting while I enjoyed the Jalepeno Garlic Olives. We’re all hunkered down for the night with the wind blowing and lightning filled skies. Sleep well and we’ll see you down the road. #thisisretirement #truevaluehardware #desertdiamonddistillery #harvesthosts
