Day 39:

Note to self:

“If you’re going off-roading, wear a bra.”

“Don’t take a Honda Civic off-roading.”

“Don’t sit under apple trees, apples hurt when they drop.”

We went on a “Moose Hunt.” We loaded up the car with snack, drinks, jackets, and binoculars, then hit the pavement.

Well, we started on pavement then ended up on pebble, narrow roads with no room to turn around. About seven miles in at 10mph we saw a bog, so we stopped to look for moose. Never saw any, so took our own picture by the bog.

We continued on the “Moose Hunt” only to hit a big rock on the road, then heard clang, clang. Daniel got out to find that the “under car shield” was hanging down. A bolt came off when we hit the rock. I found a lanyard in the glove compartment, so he was able to tie up the shield so we could continue on our “Moose Hunt”. At this point we decided to turn around with a lot of maneuvering because if we kept going in the same direction, we might have crossed the Canadian border. (Seriously)

Although we never saw a moose, we saw turkeys, a chicken, a roadrunner, and a lot of beautiful nature. Daniel said, “he didn’t need to leave the campground to see beauty”. Melted my heart.

Poor Madi we called her to make sure she was tracking us only to hit the rock and drop the call. We reassured her we were okay once we had service again.

It’s never a bad day when you go out in nature, even if you get lost and break your car.

Back at camp, we enjoyed the fire while Daniel and I cut his hair. We concluded, it will grow back if with mess it up.

See you down the road.
