After a cozy, rainy morning in the RV, we took the local Island Explorer shuttle buses and see some sites.

We took the first bus and went to Garland Farm, which was a lovely flower garden and had the sweetest docent. It was raining most of the time, but that’s what made it extra special.

After the farm, we took another shuttle bus to the Village Green which is a quaint town the lots of shops, restaurants, ice cream places and bars. Made me wonder if that’s why it’s called Bar Harbor.

First stop was Mt. Desert Island ice cream. We took it to the park across the street, sat on a bench, and enjoyed our delicious ice cream as we watched a storm moving in.

There’s a community piano in the gazebo and someone was playing beautiful music.

Thank God the cruise ships aren’t allowed in port this year, or else there would be thousands more people here. They get 100,000 tourist each summer with the cruise ships alone.

After the ice cream we walked through the shops, I bought a new sweater since it’s 64 degrees and raining. We also walked to the local grocery store, but by this time the storm moved in, and it was pouring on us.

We caught our last shuttle home, where we put our feet up, sat under the awning and watched the rain for a while.

We are expecting more rain all night tonight. I love the sound of the rain in the RV

I chose today’s song for my dad. He would have loved that we were taking this trip and living our life on the road. I miss you dad, but I know I’ll see you down the road.
